Two rushed to hospital after rollover crash

Two men were seriously injured Tuesday night when a 1955 Chevrolet rolled onto its roof and into the front yard of a Langley home.

Just after 8 p.m., the westbound Chevrolet lost control in the 5400 block of 238th Street and rolled several times, said Cpl. Holly Largy, spokesperson for the Langley RCMP.

The car came to rest on its roof in front of a home.

One man was found outside the car, while another was still inside the vehicle.

At least one man was taken to hospital by Air Ambulance. The helicopter landed in a nearby field.

Both suffered serious injuries, and their conditions have worsened since they were taken from the scene.

The victims, 77 and 54 years old, remain in hospital. Neither was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, and alcohol is thought to be have been a factor as well.

Investigators have spoken to witnesses to the crash, who said the car accelerated very quickly just before it rolled over.

The Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service were called out to help with the crash investigation, and the car has been sent for a mechanical inspection.

Anyone who has information that might help police with the investigation is asked to call the Langley RCMP at 604-532-3200.
