People had to re-route around the area of 232nd Street and Fraser Highway as emergency crews dealt with a serious crash Wednesday morning.

“Fraser Highway is open to traffic,” Langley RCMP Cpl. Holly Largy said early Wednesday afternoon.

Police were called just prior to 7 a.m. on Wednesday for a two-vehicle collision. A Hyundai Tiburon was eastbound on Fraser. A Chrysler 200 was westbound in the left turn lane to make a turn to go south on 232nd Street when the crash occurred.

“Each vehicle had only one occupant. One driver has been taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The other driver will be taken to hospital by air ambulance,” she explained.

Police will be looking to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision.

“At this time, all that is know is the collision was high speed,” Largy said.

ICARS has completed its work at the scene. The driver who was airlifted to hospital was not wearing a seatbelt.

“Apparently the seriously injured fellow will be fine,” she said.
