One man is in grave condition and two others were wounded after all three were shot at a South Langley house early Thursday morning.

Langley RCMP were called to a house in the 2500 block of 204th Street at 2:20 a.m. after multiple people called to report hearing gunshots.

The three injured people were taken to hospital. One remains in grave condition, said Cpl. Holly Largy, spokesperson for the Langley RCMP. One has already been released and another remains in hospital.

The two less-seriously injured men have not been cooperative with the investigation, and all three are known to police, said Largy.

The Langley RCMP Serious Crime Unit has taken control of the investigation and officers were interviewing neighbours on Thursday morning.

The three men are known to be Surrey residents and none of them lived at the home, said Largy.

The house’s neighbours said that while it was relatively quiet, this was not the first time it has drawn official attention.

“There’s been police there before,” said one neighbour who asked not to be named.

Another neighbour, Jim Zazula, said he only knew the men living or working there to say hello to.

“Don’t like it at all,” he said of having the house on the street where he’s lived for more than 30 years.

Zazula said the residents had a lot of company, and had a large number of cars out back, up to 20. He was under the impression that they were repairing and selling the cars.

Asked if there was a marijuana grow op on the property, Largy said there was no illegal grow op.

Thieves have targeted legal, medical marijuana grow operations in the past, but Largy could not say whether there was a legal operation at the house.

She did confirm that Langley RCMP have been called to the house in the past, but said those were mostly over minor incidents, including bylaw matters.

There was one serious incident that brought the Surrey RCMP to the property in 2013, however.

On Aug. 2 of that year, men in two cars in the 5800 block of 126 St. in Surrey exchanged gunfire just before 3 p.m.

Two men, aged 19 and 21, who turned up at local hospitals with gunshot wounds were linked to the shooting, which was suspected to be a targeted incident.

Cpl. Dale Carr of the Surrey RCMP said a vehicle linked to the shooting was recovered at a property in the 2500 block of 204th Street.
