Langley Mounties have a suspect in a hit and run that injured a Good Samaritan on April 6 of this year.

Mark Sameer Batraki, a 42-year-old Langley man, is wanted on warrants for criminal negligence causing bodily harm and theft of a motor vehicle.

The incident took place near 232nd Street and 33rd Avenue, said Cpl. Holly Largy.

A driver in a truck stopped to help when he spotted a car on fire in a ditch.

A man at the scene asked the driver for a ride. When the driver said he couldn’t, the suspect simply climbed into the truck and sped off.

The Good Samaritan was injured when he grabbed the door handle and tried to hang on. He was injured and struck his head when he fell off.

Batraki is from Langley, but his last known address is in the Kelowna area. It’s unknown where he is at this time, Largy said.

Batraki is described as a Middle Eastern man, 5’10”, 190 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes.

Anyone with information on Batraki’s whereabouts is asked to call the Langley RCMP at 604-532-3200, or to remain anonymous, contact CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or www.solvecrime.ca.
