Langley RCMP are issuing a warning after a woman was groped in downtown Langley on Dec. 11.

In the later evening hours, the woman called police to report she had been assaulted as she tried to enter her building, said Cpl. Holly Largy.

Her attacker approached from behind and groped her, Largy said.

The woman screamed, and her father heard her cries from his patio. He gave chase, but unfortunately wasn’t able to apprehend the suspect.

The attacker didn’t say anything during the assault.

The suspect is described as between 5’8” and 5’11” tall, in his mid-20s, light skinned, and wearing black shoes, black pants, and a black cloth hoodie with white lettering on the left sleeve.

He was last seen running north on 208th Street, said Largy.

The Langley RCMP General Investigation Section is continuing to look into the attack.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Langley RCMP at 604-532-3200.

Although this is the only report of its kind recently, police are asking local residents to be vigilant when walking alone, said Largy.

Walking with a friend or family member,a nd removing headphones is recommended, as is taking note of people you feel are suspicious, Largy said.
