JUPP, Alan McLean

On Saturday February 2nd, at the age of 84, Al passed away peacefully at his home in Langley, BC. He was predeceased by his brother Donald and his 2nd wife Mary. He is lovingly remembered by his sister Margaret Gillingham, his 1st wife Pat James, his daughters Candice (Doug) Chappell, Nancy (Steve) Arcand and his grandchildren, Dustin, Serena and Kimberly Chappell and Travis Arcand. Al was born January 2nd 1924, in Victoria BC to Francais and Lillian Jupp. He lived in Victoria until joining the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1942, the day after his 18th birthday. His love of aircraft and flying led him to a long career as a commercial pilot flying for Canadian Pacific Airlines( CPAir). Over his career he flew many aircraft finishing as a Captain of the 747. Captain Jupp retired after 32 years of service with a record as flawless as his last touchdown at Vancouver International Airport on January 1st 1984. His love for flying and aircraft went well beyond his career as a pilot. From an early age he developed a love for building. Al was a solitary man who had a deep passion for fine craftsmanship and was a Master Craftsman of extraordinary talent. He was at his happiest when he had a project on the go, which was all the time! From his many model aircraft to his hand built two seater airplane, the house on 92nd, the cabin at Sakinaw and countless other projects, Al was widely admired for the perfection of his workmanship. His Love of animals was evident throughout his life and he would always be counted on to feed and care for any animal he encountered especially strays. In his later years he turned to care for cats, and his many "kitties" had a very comfortable life due to his dedication to them. Al had a wonderful contagious laugh and was always happy to see and hear from his friends and family. His unassuming and happy ways will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. A celebration of Al's Life will be held for family and friends at: Henderson's Funeral Home 20786 Fraser Hwy Langley, BC 604-530-6488
