March 3, 1941 - July 16, 2020
Alfred Cruthers passed away peacefully in his sleep at Royal Columbian Hospital due to complications related to heart disease.
Born in Vancouver, he spent much of his early life working as a baker. In 1963, he married Judy Fleming before finally settling down in Langley in 1975. A kid at heart, Fred delighted in entertaining their children, Joan and David, as well as the four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren that would follow.
After 40 years with the Bakers and Confectioners Union, he retired, spending his later years travelling and assisting his wife until her death in 2019. He loved reading, driving, and applying ketchup to practically everything.
Fred is survived by sisters Donna, Bev, and Sandra, and his brother, Doug. Please consider a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Fraser Valley Regional Library.
