MACDONALD – Amelia (Millie)


Millie passed away in Langley, B.C., on October 12, 2008, at the age of 77, after a brief battle with cancer. Millie was born and raised in Thorhild, Alberta, and lived most of her adult life on the West Coast. She is survived by her husband of 48 years Jack, daughters Susan and Loryl, son Robert, daughter-in-law Anita Wong, granddaughter Caitlyn, and grandson Devin. She will be missed by her sister Helen Newman (Stan), nephew Brian Newman (Kim), niece Nancy Newman, uncle Dave Williams (Nancy), and many cousins. She will also be remembered by the MacDonalds from P.E.I. A wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Millie lived life with a tremendous spirit and sense of fun. Her friendship and kindness touched the lives of many.

Thank you to all of the friends and neighbours who supported Millie and her family during her illness. The family wishes to express special gratitude to Dr. Clifford Allen, Dr. Maureen Adamson, and the staff of Langley Hospice Residence. A celebration of Millie’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, October 20, 2008, at Langley United Church, 5673 200th Street, Langley. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Langley Hospice Society, 20088-40A Avenue, Langley, B.C., V3A 2Y6.
