POL, ANDY ``Opa''Born July 12, 1930 in Groningen, Holland. Passed away peacefully at Surrey Memorial Hospital on April 18, 2005. Predeceased by Emmy (2002) his loving wife of 46 years, he will be lovingly remembered by children Andrea (Dan), Rita (Tom), Art (Cheryl), Brenda (Alan) and Ingrid (Blaine), 13 grandchildren, Danielle, Michael, Forrest, Aaron, Brock, Deanna, Colby, Braden, Matthew, Brent, Adam, David and Alyssa, brother John (Alice) and numerous close friends. He immigrated with his family from Holland in 1955, settling in B.C. Andy worked with Eatons for over 25 years, he loved model railroading, fishing, camping and was an avid stamp collector. He was famous for being able to fix things and he loved to tinker in his garage. There were many projects that he was always working on. He became computer savvy in his sixties and was up on all of the latest techie equipment. His positive personality made him an easy-going patient at Newton Regency Care Home where he last resided. A viewing from 11:00 to 12:00 p.m. with funeral service to follow at 12:00 p.m. will be held on Friday, April 22, 2005 at Fleetwood Christian Reform Church, 9165 - 160th Street in Surrey. Donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
