SHEWAN, Betty-Jean (Hoover)
Passed away peacefully at her home in Langley, BC February 7, 2009. Jean was born in Spokane, WA on September 3, 1923, and was one of eight children twin who lived with her family in Kamloops throughout her childhood years. She attended normal school and taught school for several years. Jean had a great love for athletics and was an avid golfer. She was predeceased by her loving husband Robert Harris Shewan. They married in 1942 and moved to Langley in 1946. A wonderful mother and friend, Jean will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her son Dougal (Lori) of Langley, B.C., her daughter Catherine Earles (Don) of Midland Ontario; her grandchildren Stacey Kosturos
(Dimitri), Alexandra, Richard and
Jessica, and her many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Special thank you and acknowledgement to Jean's caregivers who provided endless comfort, compassion and care throughout her final years. Her remains have been cremated and a gathering of family and close friends will be held at the Sharon United Church, Murrayville, B.C. on Friday, February 13, 2009 at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of B.C.
