Bill SAUNDERS

SAUNDERS - Dr. Bill Saunders, Veterinarian, passed away at Nanaimo Regional Hospital on December 16, 2005 as a result of a massive stroke.

He leaves to mourn his partner Valerie of 30 years; daughters Kate, Christine and Bridgot; son Paul; brother Tom and Nelson; sisters Bess, Eleanor and Hazel as well as many nieces and nephews. Also left to mourn are 3 cats and two dogs Ceilidh and Holly his special friends.

He was predeceased by his son Jimmy, brother Francis and a sister Margaret.

Bill practiced as an equine veterinarian throughout the Fraser Valley retiring 2 months short of his 80th birthday when he fulfilled his dream of retiring to Vancouver Island. Although he only lived there for 15 months he immediately made many friends and was completely happy with his decision to end his days in Parksville. He will be fondly remembered by clients for his love and devotion to the animals in his care.

Special thanks to the staff of the 4th floor at Nanaimo Regional Hospital and Dr. P. Gunton for their care and compassion.

A celebration of Bill's life will be held at Knox United Church, 345 North Pym Street, Parksville, B.C. on Friday, Decemmber 30, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. with a reception to follow.
