March 13, 1944 - June 23, 2020
Carol went to be with her husband who left us 42 days earlier.
Growing up in Fort Langley on Armstrong Road with 6 siblings she shared with us many stories, especially those with her brother Bob, with whom she was very close.
Her career started at the Royal Bank right out of high school. She married Robert Meek and had 2 children. They spent the early years travelling and camping with the kids and their large group of friends and family.
For many years Carol worked at BC Forrest Service making many lifelong friends, as well as at BCGEU where she assisted many members.
Carol made friends wherever she went. Her love of travel was great and she went on many trips and cruises with her girlfriends to Mexico where they survived an earthquake that destroyed their hotel!
She married Wayne in New Zealand and they went on to have many adventures together. They loved to travel near and far. BC travels had them stopping at every roadside point of interest.
Carol was a volunteer for the Langley Lifeline, sold poppies every year for our Veterans and was a proud member of the Heritage Society.
She left us to continue her travels with Wayne. Though gone too soon she made an impact on everyone she met, paying you for your kindness with fresh baked cookies or the home made chocolate cake that she's been searching for that was her mother's recipe. She was a huge part of our lives and she will be missed more than we can say. She was so strong and moved mountains to get things done.
She leaves behind her 2 daughters Cathy (Rob) Shannon (Darren) and 4 grandchildren Spencer, Cole, Jaden and Shayla, her ex-husband Bob. Wayne's children Leighann, Kevin, Pamela and Darren, their spouses and children.
When you can, play Fleetwood Macs version of Songbird and think of her. She loved it.
A memorial will be held at a later date.
