Clement MCCLOSKEY

MCCLOSKEY, Clement Joseph of Langley, BC, passed away Monday, March 1, 2010 at Langley Memorial Hospital. He was 80. Born July 24th 1929 in Alymer, Quebec, Clem was the eighth of ten children. His parents, Richard McCloskey and Mary Elizabeth Muldoon settled the family in the small farming community of Eston, Saskatchewan following Clem's arrival. His professional life was marked by his flare for sales and marketing coupled with his love of people and sports. His fearless leadership and his ability to get things done, enriched his community. Clem gave tirelessly in support of hockey, curling and many community organizations in the lower mainland. His energy, quick wit, love of humor and storytelling will be fondly remembered by all. Clem had accumulated a vast amount of knowledge and wisdom and had an opinion on just about everything; he would enthusiastically share these opinions with anyone looking for a spirited and friendly discussion. Loving husband of Joan McCloskey of 56 years, Clem McCloskey is survived by his three children Brian (Karen), Kelly (Sandy) and Kim (Ken); his eight grandchildren (Karen, Michael, Brian, Daniel, Nicholas, Mark, Kevin, Anna), a brother Steve (Anne) and sister Bernice of Edmonton and sister Eileen of Calgary and his many nieces and nephews. A funeral service celebrating Clem's life will be held at Henderson's Funeral Home, 20786 Fraser Highway, Langley, on Tuesday March 9th at 1 pm. A reception will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to the BC Lung Association.
