SCHIMPF, Della Irene Fay Lowdermilk (formerly Windall) - beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away peacefully December 4, 2005 at Langley Hospice.
Della was born June 16, 1940 in Kenaston, Saskatchewan; daughter of the late Roscoe and Hallie Lowdermilk and came to B.C. when she was 6 years old. She graduated from Burnaby South High School in 1958 and received her Bachelor of Elementary Education Degree in 1983; teaching at Kitchener Elementary, Sperling Elementary and ending her career at Cameron and Lyndhust Elementary Schools in 1996 after 36 years of teaching.
She will be greatly missed by her daughter Lee Ann Martin (Tony); grandsons Reece, Avery and Kieran; son Richard Windall (Jennifer); granddaughters Christina, Renee and Victoria; brothers Kenneth, Bernard (Edna), Eldon (Nancy); sister Arvinna (William) Wilkenson; nieces, nephews and friends. Della was predeceased by brothers Murl, Austin and Vincent and sister Lucille.
We will remember her beautiful smile and love of children and teaching.
A celebration service for family and friends will be held Friday, December 9 at 11:00 a.m. at The Travellers Hotel, 21628 48th Avenue, Langley. Donations in Della's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Many thanks to Drs. Fagan, McIntosh and Mason and Langley Hospital and Hospice nurses for their care.
