Diedre Janine Upton

July 2, 1956 - June 2, 2022
Following a valiant battle with cancer, it is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Diedre Upton at Langley hospice early Thursday morning June 2, 2022.
Diedre was born in Regina, Saskatchewan to Lucy and Lyle Doraty.
She is survived by siblings, Gary Doraty (Heather), Patty Doraty (sister-law), Randy Doraty (Christine),Delee Pyne(Mark), Danica George(Wayne) and her mother, Lucy. Diedre is predeceased by father Lyle May,1987 and brother Larry in February 2018.
She filled our lives with laughter and kindness. She was always looking for the goodness in everyone (Little Miss Sunshine). She would say if I haven't seen you in a while you're getting a hug.
Diedre married her high school sweetheart Ron, they met at Riversdale Track Club. They have been together for 49 years and married 45. They moved to Langley, BC in 1987 with boys Jason and Justin
She loved those two boys very deeply and would fuss over Sunday dinners trying out new deserts. She would spend time on the phone laughing with them. It was to our delight that Justin gave us grandson Hayden. He was Diedre's number one fan, reading, putting puzzles together.
We were blessed as Diedre would say that Cristina came into our lives as partner to Justin and Hayden
She's in the memories of numerous nieces and nephews that she loved to visit on trips back to Saskatoon.
Besides family she loved to travel and taste the food from different countries. But cruising was the best place for her sit back and relax.
Diedre worked for 32 years at New West Gypsum Recycling as Office Manager. She would come home and say this is best job any person could have, thanks to Tony and Gwen for making her feel special.
We like to thank all the doctors that helped her through this fight but cancer took her from us.
To Dr. Kass and team of nurses and volunteers at Langley Hospice made Diedre's last days more bearable.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 10th at 11am at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Parish 20680 Fraser Hwy, Langley BC
