December 7, 1922 - January 27, 2020
Our dear mother is now in the loving arms of her Saviour Jesus Christ, after passing away peacefully on January 27, 2020 at Langley Lodge. Born December 7, 1922 in Torquay, England. Predeceased by her parents Charles and Eva Thomas, her brothers Richard and Don and her son Brian. Dorothy is survived by Jim her loving husband of 75 years, daughters Judy
(Terry) and Phyllis (Bill) and son Brad (Patti), 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Dorothy came to Canada in 1938, attended McGee High School in Vancouver and worked as a telegraph operator for CN in Vancouver and Edmonton. While at a dance in Vancouver she met Jim, an army soldier on furlough, and on October 12th, 1944 they married in Edmonton.
They moved to BC thereafter and started farming in Langley, BC. While raising 3 children and helping on the farm, Dorothy took on extra jobs to support the family and was matron at the senior's facility Langholm.
She was interested in travel, flower gardening, piano playing, outings with family, crosswords, and news of the Royal family.
Dorothy loved life and she loved to be around her family. She was a thankful, caring, humble person who had great faith, a joyful personality and an infectious smile.
A Celebration of Dorothy's Life will take place on February 14, 2020 at 11 am at St. Andrews Anglican Church, 20955 Old Yale Road, Langley, BC.
