Dorothy Patricia Schroeder (nee Walker) passed away peacefully in Victoria, BC on March 27, 2018 after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Dorothy was born on December 27, 1939 and grew up on the family farm in Aldergrove, BC. She graduated from Langley Junior-Senior High School in 1957. Dorothy worked for the public service for over 25 years, first as a court reporter for the Department of Immigration and then as a stenographer with the RCMP.
She married Klaus Schroeder in 1980 in Victoria. Upon retirement, Dorothy spent many years traveling the world with Klaus before his death in 2009. Dorothy's bubbly sense of humor and outgoing nature kept her in many social groups: the weight training ladies, the Cordova Bay hikers, the book club, and volunteering with the Victoria Symphony.
She will be dearly missed by her family and her many friends.
Dorothy is survived by her sister Joan and brothers, David (Kathy), Herb (Evelyn) and Ken (Sharron), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and friends.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Klaus, sister Kathy and brother Bill.
