In Loving Memory ~
Born in Saskatchewan, she moved, with her mother, at less than a year old, to Vancouver, where they lived with Dorothy's grandparents for the first decade of her life. After her mother, Gladys, met and married Maclyn West, they moved to his property in the Ft, Langley/Glen Valley area, where she remained for all but the past 2 ½ years of her life.
She is survived by her brother Merlin and his children, and her daughters Debbie (Lance), Sandra, and Cindy, as well as one son, Doug (Brenda). Grandchildren: Beverly (Jarrod); Jennifer (Brandon); Kristy; Amanda; Daniel (Alicia); Jake; Lisa; and Wesley. And great-grandchildren Austin; Jason; Lucas; Greyson; Parker; Peyton; Riley; Sophie; and Carter. And her partner of 45 years, Richard Gerard.
Dorothy worked for many years in the mink industry, as well as a number of years working with Richard on his fish boat on the BC coast. She enjoyed their driving holidays, as well as cruising, when not working.
Thank you to her doctor, Manreet Gill, of Aldergrove, and to the Respirology and Kidney Clinics in Abbotsford. Also, a huge thank you to the Harrison Pointe Retirement Living facility and its staff, whom she cared for very much, especially the nursing staff of Dawn, Tara, and Abigail.
As per Dorothy's request, there will be no services.
