February 2019, Evelyn Ruth Flynn (nee Gaitens), age 90, passed away peacefully n Langley B.C. with all of her children by her side. Survived by: Bob (Vivian), Larry (Kelly), Lynn (Kevin) and Nancy (Andrew), grandchildren Dawn and Jason, Dave and Valerie, Kyle, Kristen and Wyatt, and great-grandchildren

Mom lived, at times, a difficult life, and did her best to pass on her indomitable "never let them get the best of you" spirit. As a single mother, she persevered through immense difficulties ensuring we were able to participate in activities. She was immensely supportive and proud of us, as well as her family's five generations of military service. Evelyn lived the motto of "others before self", devoted to volunteering and teaching countless people many craft making skills. Fiercely independent and sometimes feisty, she always had a quick laugh and a comforting hug for anyone.
Our humble and giving mother wanted no fanfare when she left this world, only to be remembered fondly. At her request, her ashes were scattered in a private family gathering. Evelyn would appreciate donations to Sunshine Coast Hospice www.coasthospice.com.
