We are heartbroken to share that Frank passed away peacefully on October 17, 2020 in Langley, B.C.
Frank will be forever remembered and loved by his wife Dagny, twin sister Helma, two surviving children Rick (Wendy) and Sandy (Jack), five grandchildren Brandon, Stephanie, Kendelle, Janine and Dusty and seven great-grandchildren; Kyla, Oliver, Shane, Gabriel, Jack, Jesse, Jeremy and many nieces and nephews.
Frank was pre-deceased by his son Glenn and brother Fred.
Frank and his twin sister were born in Port Moody to John and Natalia Yurkin on August 3, 1927. Frank fell in love with his high school sweetheart, Dagny, and they married on November 26, 1949.
Frank was a commercial fisherman and fished Northern waters until he and Dagny began their family. For many years, Frank and Dagny fished the Fraser River and ran the family business, Devitt's Dyking and Ditching.
In 1977, they moved to the family farm on Barnston Island where they spent almost 32 years dairy farming. Frank was well known and loved in the fishing and farming communities. Frank will be missed dearly by his family and many friends.
A private family gathering will be held to celebrate his life at a later date.
