Gilchrist MARTIN

MARTIN: Gilchrist James. Aged 60, passed away peacefully at home with his wife and family by his side on July 10, 2005 after a short but courageous battle with cancer.

Predeceased by his father James in February, 2005, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his mother Wilma, wife and best friend Ka-Ling, sons David (Karen), Colin (Tina) and Bryce, brothers Thomas (Brenda), Gary (Pamela) and Mike (Debbie), sisters Heather (Jack) and Beverley (Wayne), many uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces and dear friends and colleagues.

Gil was an outdoor enthusiast, canoeist, kayaker, skier, hiker, traveler, and winemaker as well as a coach, a volunteer, and a community leader. Many people were touched by his warm generosity and kindness.

Gil's family would like to express their heart-felt appreciation for the excellent care and support from the Langley Home Care nurses Lynn, Val and Lorna. Special thanks and gratitude to Drs. Don Wilson, K. Gill and K. Gelmon of the B.C. Cancer Agency, our family doctors H.D. Cooper and H. Aspinall, and Dr. Cao of Hygieia Acupuncture Clinic.

Please join us in a celebration of Gil's life to be held on Saturday, July 16, 2005, 1:00 p.m. at Langley Seniors Recreation & Resource Centre, 20605 51B Avenue, Langley, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the B.C. Cancer Foundation, 200-601 West Broadway, Vancouver, BC or your favorite charity.
