PEARCE, Gordon Thorne, born March 5, 1916, passed away December 24, 2008. Gordon was born in Humboldt, Sask. He was predeceased by his wife Glenn, his son, Rick, brothers, Wilf, Cec, and Doug and his sister, Audrey. Gordon is survived by his sister, Barb (Reg); sons, Don (Ev) and Bob (Rhonda); his daughter in law, Jeannie; grandchildren, Kimberley, Julie, Cameron, Robbie and Scott. After serving in W.W.II as an RCAF flight instructor, Gordon opened a hardware store in 1946, in Langley, B.C., which he operated with his two brothers until 1976. Over the years, he was a regular feature in the hardware store operated by his son Bob, in Aldergrove. A special "thank you" to the staff in the ICU at Langley Memorial Hospital, for the special care they gave him. A celebration of Gordon's life will be held at 1:00 pm, on Tuesday, January 6th, at the Eureka Masonic Hall, at 20701 Fraser Highway, in Langley. In lieu of flowers, donations made in Gordon's memory to the Langley Seniors Resource Centre, or a charity of your own choosing would be most appreciated.
