Ella (Parker)

Born August 25, 1909 in Chilliwack, B.C. passed away peacefully December 19, 2008 in her 99th year, in Langley, B.C. Predeceased by her husband John W. Davis in 1957, her son Jack C. Davis in 1994 and sister Winnifred in 2003. Survived by her son Bob (Shirley) of Fort Langley, daughter-in-law Nhung of Vancouver and grandchildren Kristyne, Carrie of Langley and Johnny of Vancouver, brother Jack Parker of Chilliwack and long-time friend Henry McPhee of Delta.

Gwen was a 75 year member of the (OES) Order of Eastern Star, Langley Chapter #50. She was initiated into the Chapter in 1945 became Worthy Matron in 1958/59. In 1980 she was presented with the commission as Grand Representative of North Carolina. Gwen became a life member of OES on October 18, 1985.

Gwen enjoyed socializing with her many friends at the family cabin at Cultus Lake, "Gwen's Den" and Eastern Star, The Birthday Club, golf and bridge. She was active in Langley

Lions Ladies and for many years sang in the choir of St. Andrews Anglican Church.

Special thanks go out to Drs. Allen and Nataros and the nurses and support staff of Simpsons Manor and Magnolia Gardens. A celebration of Gwen's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 15, 2009 at The Eureka Masonic Hall, 20701 Fraser Hwy., Langley, B.C.
