It is with great sadness that Betty's family announce her passing on April 7. Betty is survived by her children Cherryl, Ray and Doug; 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 4 great great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Forest and Edith; her brother, Orville; her first husband, John; her second husband, Gilbert; her sons Jim and Ron; her grandson Kelly; and her great-grandson Tate.

Betty was born in Portland, OR and later moved to California. She married John Underwood in the 1930s and they had three children in Bakersfield. Betty was widowed in 1950 and later married Canadian farmer, Gilbert Amundson. They had two sons and settled in BC in 1959. In 1996 Betty was widowed again.

Betty was accomplished at oil painting, quilting, sewing, knitting, crocheting and crafts. She co-founded the Aldergrove Art Club in the '60s and Langley Family Services in the '70s. She was a member of many art clubs and Rebekah's Lodge. She won awards for her artistic creations and, with Gilbert, won agricultural awards.

In February 2018 Betty enjoyed her 100th birthday surrounded by U.S. and Canadian family who will remember her for her love, strength, generousity and creativity.

The family thank the staff of Harrison Landing and Langley Memorial Hospital for their care.
