April 2, 1951 - November 5, 2021
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Holly Maureen Jones.
Holly was born April 2, 1951 in Vancouver B.C. to Frank and Robertina Rayner. She was one of 6 children. She was predeceased by both her parents, her 3 older brothers Terry, Frank, and Jim along with her younger sister Heather.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 51 years Tom, daughter April (Patrick), son Chad (Joana), grandsons Cameron (Jenelle), Maxwell, brother Andy (Chris), sister-in-laws Gail, Marilyn, and brother-in-law Dick (Tere), along with a host of extended family, friends and co-workers.
Holly was fiercely independent and enjoyed working in a variety of jobs ranging from Administration for City Hall in Surrey to RCMP dispatch. In the early 1980s she opened a Printing and Stationary business which she ran with her brother Frank for many years. She enjoyed accounting and did book keeping for a number of years before going back to school for radio broadcasting where she worked for a station in Hope and did traffic and weather for a local Vancouver station. She ultimately returned to her love of numbers by taking a payroll position which she held until her retirement.
Always active, she enjoyed brisk walks, biking, tennis and golf. Her hobbies and interests varied from piano and guitar lessons to learning sign language and architectural design.
Holly and Tom enjoyed some wonderful trips with friends, and in particular their trip to Australia was one of their favourites.
Holly enjoyed family time whether it was martinis on the deck, a night of Texas Holdem poker or a game of pool.
Beyond her children, grandchildren, extended family and friends she was completely and unequivocally devoted to her husband Tom just as he was to her. A true partnership in every way and a love that outshone any obstacle or illness.
We will greatly miss her beautiful smile, her fun loving spirit and her homemade Christmas butter tarts.
The family would like to thank Dr. Mitchell Fagan for his compassionate care in treating Holly and helping us navigating these last few months.
We would also like to express our sincere appreciation and gratitude to Bhemy and Em who provided the most devoted and loving care for Holly.
Finally, thank you to Tamara who always found a way to make Holly happy and comfortable.
