WILLIAMS, Howard Llwyn

Aug. 7, 1927 – Sept. 20, 2010

Howard died peacefully in his 83rd year with his family at his side. He is survived by Rosemary, his wife of 54 years; daughters Joanne (Rob),Nancy (Charlie), Jennifer; son Todd; son-in-law Wayne; sister Gwen; nephew Robert; and grandchildren Caleb (Chantal), Stephanie, David, Stephen, Rachel, and Darren. He is predeceased by daughter Kathy and grandson Nathan.

Born in Victoria, Howard spent his childhood in Vancouver and the Cowichan Valley. He joined the Navy at 17 years old, and served for 25 years as a proud and patriotic Canadian. Every year November 11th was a very special day shared with his family at Remembrance Day Ceremonies. Following his retirement from the Navy, he worked at recreation centres and school boards in Victoria as a maintenance supervisor. He moved to Langley 12 years ago to have a bigger part in the lives of his children and grandchildren. He was well known for his wonderful woodworking projects, many of which were given to his beloved grand-children and many neighbourhood children.

Howard will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. A memorial service will be held at The Parish of St. George Anglican Church, 9160 Church Street, Fort Langley on October 8, 2010 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Howard's honour to the Terry Fox Foundation.
