Hugh Dobbie

June 15, 1938 - October 11, 2023

We are saddened to share that Hugh Dobbie, aged 85, passed away in the wee hours of the morning on October 11, 2023 surrounded by his family.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Susan, his children, Hugh (Daygan), Sarah (David), Ewen (Holly), his grandchildren, Kristin (Mark), Lara (Aaron), Trevor (Alessandra), Andrew (Lauren), Ceilidh (Matthew) Alex, Kimberley (Evan) and Adriana and his great grandchildren, Isabelle, Abigail, Rey and Owen.

Family was paramount for Hugh.

Hugh was born in Edinburgh and immigrated to Canada in 1956. He became widely recognized as a pioneer in the steel detailing industry after establishing Dowco Consultants in 1970.

Hugh's life, legacy and memory will be celebrated on Friday, November 17, 2023 at Newlands Golf and Country Club in Langley. The celebration will begin at 3 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Langley Memorial Hospital Foundation, a cause close to Hugh's heart.
