GIBBS, Ida Lillian (Nixon)

It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the peaceful death of Ida after a steadfast battle with cancer. She faced this illness with courage and dignity and was an inspiration to us all. Ida shared her life with Bill, her cherished husband of over 50 happy years. Their life together was filled with adventure, respect, humour and love. She was a devoted and proud mother. Her spirit will remain with her children Darlene and Brian McMullan, and Darren and Lisa Gibbs.
Granny will forever live in the hearts of her treasured grandchildren; Brittany, Courtney, Mitchell and Samantha. They will miss her hugs and homemade pies. Ida leaves behind her three remaining siblings; Christina, Lorne and Myrna and her special brother-in-law Glen. She was predeceased by five brothers and four sisters.
Ida was warm, kind, strong and witty. She was a farm girl at heart who enjoyed the simple things in life; bread and butter, potatoes, feeding the birds, flowers, and a good cup of tea.
Endeared to many, this loving soul will be held in the hearts of countless friends and family members.
In keeping with Ida's wishes, there will be no service.
