March 26, 1923 - July 31, 2018
It is with sadness, fond memories, and her legacy as a wonderful woman, wife, mom, grandma, great- grand mother, aunt, cousin, friend that we announce the passing of Iris Margaret Secord (Loveseth).

She was born in Camrose, Alberta and spent her early years on the farm before the family moved to Edmonton. After graduation she began working and travelling. Iris loved to tell the grand-children stories about those years which included working at the Banff Springs Hotel and the Empress in Victoria. She and Denver Secord (predeceased) were married for 63 years. Three children Carol (Joe),

David (Sharon) Bob (Pam) grand children Paul (Bronia), Andy (Jennifer), Suzanne (Jeff), Ryan (Leah), Peter (Mandy) and Eric (Janine) as well as 8 great grandchildren and a half-brother, George (Carolyn) and brother-law, Ritchie (Lupita) and other relatives survive her.

They moved from Prince Rupert while the children were young. The years in West Langley were challenging for Iris: three children, gardening, canning, hobby farming, and volunteer work. The friendships that developed during those years continue to be long lasting.

Thirty-two retirement years in Oliver: the lake, golfing, travelling and playing cards. Grand-Ma was never happier then when the family came to visit. New and lasting friendships again.

Iris remained generous and up-to-date. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels and spent many hours visiting people who were in need of company. President of the Fairview Golf Course, hosting exchange students from Japan, current affairs and involvement in politics are but a few examples.

The family wishes to thank the staff at The Chartwell Renaissance in Langley, Sources Cornerstone, and Dr. Desai for their exceptional care for the last four years of Iris's life.

A Celebration of Life will he held on Sunday, September 30, 2018 from 1:00-4:00 pm at the Red Woods Golf Course, 22011 88 Ave, Langley.
