Ivy Harris, late of Abbotsford, BC passed away November 23, 2017 at the age of 92.

Born in rural Saskatchewan to Arthur and Ada ( Bowling) Mowles, Ivy was the fourth of eight children, but the first girl. With three older brothers, two of whom went overseas in WWII, and four younger sisters, Ivy became adept at both housework and farm work. In her early twenties Ivy moved with her parents and sisters to Langley, BC.

Over the years she held a variety of office jobs, primarily book keeping positions. She was fiercely independent and known for her quick wit. Ivy loved to cook for large groups, enjoyed many activities including golf, curling, playing cards and dancing.

Over the years she volunteered for a number of organizations, in particular the Royal Canadian Legion of which she became a lifetime member.

Ivy is survived by her daughters Sandra (Bill) McGladdery and Sharlene (Angus) Hawksby; her older brother Art Mowles; three younger sisters Margaret Lee-Shold, Noreen Johner and Doreen Rowe; ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her son Bradley Harris; her parents; two brothers Ernie Mowles and Rupert Mowles; and one sister Joyce Koster.

A Memorial Service will be held for Ivy on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 1:00 pm. Service to be held at Trinity Christian Reformed Church, 3215 Trethewey Street, Abbotsford, BC.

A special thank you to Menno Home 2E staff for providing exceptional care for Ivy in her last weeks of life. You kept her comfortable and enabled her to live with dignity until she left.

In lieu of flowers donations to one of her favorite charities would be appreciated: BC Children's Hospital, Africa Community Technical Service (Acts) or The Canadian Association for Williams Syndrome.
