Jane Dow MILLS

MILLS - Jane Dow (nee Shaw) passed away peacefully on May 12th, 2005 at the James Bay Lodge/Gorge Road Hospital at the age of 86 years. Jane was born in Perth, Scotland, on December 7, 1918. After serving in the WAC for six years during WWII, she went on to a variety of careers which include: store detective, bookkeeper, Jaguar company parts dept. and Cadbury chocolate worker. Following a lengthy correspondence/romance with her beloved Gordon, she immigrated to Canada in December 1948. Following her marriage to Gordon on February 2nd, 1949, Jane embarked on a interesting and exciting life raising three children and traveling as a military wife and mother. Following Gordon's retirement the Mills family moved to her father-in-law's farm in Saskatchewan where they enjoyed eleven years of farming life. In November 1974 they headed for the West Coast and settled in Langley, BC. where they have made their home for the last 30 years.She will be dearly missed by her loving husband Gordon. Her surviving sons Donald (Mary) of Victoria, BC and

David (Wendy) of Edmonton, AB. She was predeceased by her daughter

Elizabeth ''Beth'' Goddard. Mom will be lovingly remembered by her four grandsons: Nathan (Erin), Lucas, Carl, and Casey, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and many other friends and relatives. Jane will be missed for her unselfish generosity, gracious nature, and fun loving spirit. We love you Mom!
