Joan passed away peacefully in Langley Memorial Hospital on March 19, 2020. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Joan was predeceased by her first husband, Harold Maher, and her second husband, Jack Alexander.
She is survived by her sister, Barbara (Bruce), children Bill (Marijean), Maryann (Scott), her grandchildren Chris (Danielle), Graham (Jessica), and Cole, and her great grandchildren Cheyenne and Maddison.
Joan is also survived by her extended Alexander family of children, grand children, and great grandchildren. She loved them all and liked nothing more than to have a visit with them, and hear stories of their lives and activities.
Joan loved to travel and over her life was able to visit a large part of the world exploring new things.
Joan was born in Vancouver and always considered herself a city girl. After marrying Jack she moved to Langley and then later into Harrison Pointe Retirement residence.
Joan loved to visit and socialize with all her friends, including the activities with her Red Hat groups.
Special thanks to the staff at Harrison Pointe for the love and care they provided to Joan these past few years. The support she received there was nothing short of phenomenal.
