Bolton - John Wesley (Jack)

In the company of his family, with a view of the sea and surrounded by love, a veteran of the Second World War, Jack passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 25th, 2010 at the age of 89. Predeceased by his daughters Beverly and Barbara, Jack is survived by his children Liz Tyson (Bolton), Marj Bolton, George Bolton, Cynthia Lapre, his grandchildren Jeff, Rob and Mike Tyson, his nephews Don, Alan and Skip Bolton and their families.

Jack was born in Revelstoke, B.C. July 30th, raised in Mount Pleasant, and in 1939 enlisted with the Canadian Navy. Married to Dot Bolton in 1946, Jack settled in Sea Island thereafter, where they raised their family, coached baseball and made many life long friends. Jack was a longshoreman for ILWU local 500 for 32 years before moving to Langley in 1985, where he became an active participant in the senior centre, the Legion and his cribbage league. Jack was a family man foremost; he had a deep love and loyalty towards his family and friends. Though fond of saying "getting old is for the birds", Jack lived a fulfilling and independent life.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 P.M. on Sunday March 14th at the Richmond Funeral Home 8420 Cambie Road, Richmond. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Legion Foundation at #152-5489 Byrne Road, Burnaby B.C. V5J 3J1.
