My dear husband Joseph Balint, fell asleep on September 29 in Langley, B.C. His family was with him.
Joseph is survived by wife Brigitte, sons Andy and Joseph, Andy's wife Nina and grandchildren Justin & Andrea.
Joseph came to Canada in 1955 after the Hungarian revolution. In Hungary he was trained as an opera singer. His singing brought him many awards.
In 1956 he won the Metropolitan Opera regional audition in Vancouver and in Portland. He sang principal roles with the B.C. Opera Players and later 20 years with the Vancouver Opera.
He also sang for 5 years with the Canadian Opera in Toronto. Music was his life. He spent his last years at Langley Lodge, his tenor voice resonating throughout the Lodge.
We love him and miss Him.
A private service will be held for the family.
