It is with sad hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our wonderful mom, Joyce Edna Bingeman early morning of December 6th 2020.
Joyce is survived by daughters Lois Walton (Tyler), Linda Miller and Lorraine Hamilton (Wayne), 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, her sister Eunice Hardy and brother Dennis (Anna) Dunford.
She also leaves 4 stepdaughters, 1 stepson and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Joyce was predeceased by her 7 year old son Mark, then in 1978 her husband Alvin Gunnar Olson.
She later remarried and her husband Willard Albert Bingeman passed in 2006. Also predeceased by her siblings Ivan Dunford, Hazel Thomas and Ken Dunford.
Joyce was born in Flatbush Alberta to Gladys and Richard Dunford and had 5 siblings. Their family moved to Nelson, where she met and married Alvin Olson. She loved music and her heavenly Father and would sit at the piano for hours worshipping him as she played her favourite hymns. Mom played piano and organ for church services most Sundays in the Covenant Church in Nelson, BC.
She also loved gardening and later became a florist. She decorated beautiful wedding cakes, she was also a beautiful seamstress sewing for her children and others. Her family loved her wonderful cooking and baking. She and husband Alvin had many boarders who they grew close to; they had many others in their home and also worked with the Gideons and other volunteer work in the community.
After the passing of Alvin she and her 3 daughters moved to Kamloops where she later met Willard Bingeman and they were married. They moved to Vernon In 1983. They enjoyed travelling (including family visits) as well as going on cruises. They loved being involved in different ways with their church and had many friends.
Joyce will always be remembered for her generosity, gentleness, humour, kindness and love for God and others. Mom we miss you dearly and are thankful for the many ways you blessed us. A
celebration of life will be held at a later date after Covid restrictions are lifted. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Samaritan's Purse: www.samaritanspurse.ca
