It is with immense heartbreak that we announce the passing of Kathy, following a long and brave battle with cancer.
She will be lovingly missed by her husband Murray and daughters Melissa (fiance David) and Kassandra (boyfriend Shane).
She is survived by sisters; Linda and her husband Jim, and Christine and her husband Frank. Also by several nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her parents, Arlene and Leo Levac, as well as her brothers Robert and Raymond.
Kathy had many friends and colleagues after 35 years of dedicated service to Langley Memorial Hospital, where she served as the kitchen stores receiver. Kathy was best remembered as an organizer and teacher. Working as long as she could, she never gave up until her injuries and condition could no longer support her spirit.
Horses were Kathy’s true passion, and it did not matter if she was riding, grooming them lovingly, or just hanging out and socializing at her favourite stable – always spoiling the horses along the way. It gave her great joy to have her family along as well, especially on riding vacations and endless trail rides. Kathy had a brave and beautiful heart that was lucky to be shared by her horses, but above all her family and friends.
Rest well Kathy, you are out of pain and can now enjoy walking and riding in your paradise. We will miss your love and spirit.
A Celebration of Life is being held Saturday, April 23, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Langley Seniors Centre, 20605 51B Ave.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donation be made in Kathy’s honour to the BC Cancer Research Centre.
