ARMSTRONG, (Giardelli) Kay was born Oct. 17, 1922 in London, England and she died Feb, 15 2007 in Langley, BC. Kay a WAAF during W.W.II, came to Canada in 1945 with her new husband Norman Armstrong. After living in Toronto and Oliver BC, they settled in Langley 54 years ago where she became a dedicated citizen who truly loved her community. Norman predeceased her in 1994. Kay was a tireless volunteer for many projects as well as an elected School Trustee and community activist. For 50 years she was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Parish and involved with CWL. Kay will be sorely missed by her sister Marie Try and brother Bernard Giardelli in England, her 3 children - Geraldine (Jon Scott), Trevor (Cathy Kinahan) and Mariane (Rod Chorneyko), her 10 grandchildren: Jacquelyn, Jennifer (Brent Jackson), Graeme, Stephanie, Patrick, Christopher, Nicholas, Thomas, Emma, Jane and her caring niece Kay Lotzer. A funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday, Feb. 22, 2007 at 10:30 am at St. Nicholas Catholic Church 20675 87 Ave, Langley BC. Prayers will be held at the church Feb. 21, 2007 at 8:15 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Franciscan Sisters of the Atonement, 385 East Cordova St. Vancouver, BC V6A 1LA would be greatly appreciated.
