Kenneth HARRY

HARRY, Kenneth born April 30, 1931 in England. Ken served in the Royal Mechanics and Engineers 1949-1953. He served as a guard during the Queen's Coronation and saw there the Queen of Tonga. Ken, Babs and the four kids immigrated to Canada in 1966 and settled in Brookswood in 1967. Ken was active in Langley as a Scout Leader, Soccer Coach, avid dart player, served on the Nicomekl Enhancement Society and served 20 years as a Volunteer Fireman for Zone 5. He fought many memorable fires including the fire at Belmont Elementary, where he was intially injured. After a prolonged illness resulting from the injury, he died peacefully February 4, 2004 in Langley Memorial Hospital with his family by his side.

Sadly missed by his beloved wife and friend of over 50 years Babs, 4 children: Pam (Ron), Piers (Louise), Gillian (John) and Ian (Cathy); 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild and many dear friends. Predeceased by his parents, sisters and brother, a son-in-law and his grandson Travis.

A Celebration of Life will be held on February 15th at 2:00 p.m. at the Fernridge Hall at the corner of 200th and 24th Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vancouver General Hospital Dialysis Unit (to fund the resupply of the cookies and juice).
