Kenneth Gordon Matheos

August 7, 1953 – July 15, 2016 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ken (Kenny) Matheos. He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his family and many friends. He is survived by his two sons who were his pride and joy, Craig (Erica) and Adam (Alex), grandchildren Layne, Blake and Wyatt, sisters Donna (Rod Inkster), Barb (Bart Collins), brother-in-law John Jensen, nephews Mike and Ben, niece Kelly and former wife Rena. He was predeceased by his parents Gordon and Clarice Matheos and sister Laurie. Ken was born in New Westminster, and at the age of nine moved to Squamish where he grew up and married. He later moved to Langley where he raised his family while working for Telus as a cable splicer. He spent many happy hours at the hockey rink cheering his boys on, and enjoyed summers with his family camping at Willow Beach in Osoyoos. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and creating fabulous meals for his friends and family. He was always willing to lend a hand or do a favour for anyone in need, including strangers. Ken’s family and friends will remember his quick laugh and his passion for telling a good story, teasing, joking or having a spirited debate. The family would like to thank the staff of Alder Unit at St. Vincent’s Langara hospital who lovingly cared for Ken the past year, as well as the staff at VGH for their kindness and care. A celebration of Ken’s life will be held on August 20th at 11am, at Henderson’s Funeral Home, 20786 Fraser Hwy, Langley, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Brain Injury Association of Canada (please select Brain Injury Memorial Fund).
