Leona Klantschi (née Normandin)

October 1, 1950 – March 11, 2021
Leona passed away peacefully at the Maple Ridge Hospital after a valiant battle with cancer. She was born at the Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster, BC. She married her husband, John, on September 11, 1987, and together raised two children.
Leona is survived by her husband, children, Jennifer (Brian) and grandson Tristan Grootendorst, Stephanie Klantschi (Jackson Porreca). Siblings, Rose Normandin (Ken Brown), Joe Normandin, Norm Normandin (David Hansen), John Normandin, Robert Normandin, Albert Normandin and brother-in-law, Fritz (Elizabeth) Klantschi.
Leona graduated from Centennial Secondary School in Coquitlam, BC, received an Accounting Diploma, and worked at various companies in office administration since the late 1960s in Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver. Her last 15+ years as Administrative Assistant at Fort Langley Elementary School. She loved working with the kids, staff, and parents.
Our family appreciates the care provided by staff at the Ridge Meadows Hospital and MSA Hospital.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the BC Cancer Foundation in Leona’s name or a charity of your choice.
A gathering to celebrate Leona’s life will be held in the future when family and friends can come together.
