NAEF, Louise. After a long and interesting life, Louise passed away on August 15, 2014 at the age of 94. Born in Germany June 23, 1920 she survived the Second World War in Cologne with her young son, Carl and after the war ended had her daughter Elga. To better their lives the family immigrated to Canada in 1952 and lived in Toronto until moving to Langley in the late 1970's. Louise was a strong willed, sometimes stubborn, always independent woman that lived her life on her own terms. She loved the flowers in her garden, expensive hand soap, listening to opera on CBC and laughing along to Stuart MacLean telling his stories.

She was predeceased by her husband, Hans, in 2005. She is survived by her sister Gisela Matussek in Cologne, Germany, her son Carl (Colleen), daughter Elga Tweed and grandson Barry McGrath. Known by many for the smile on her face she will be missed by all that knew her. A Celebration of Life will be held September 20, 2014 at 2PM at Avalon Gardens, 22323 - 48th Avenue, Langley in the Activities Room on the 2nd floor. Louise had a soft spot for animals and specifically Critter Care in Langley so in lieu of flowers, donations to Critter Care (crittercarewildlife. org) or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
