Eunice passed from this life to be with the Lord on Friday October 18, 2019, one day after her 96th birthday. Born in 1923 in Calgary Alberta to H. Gwynne and Laura McCullough, Eunice was musically gifted, and in her early years studied both piano and voice. As her voice matured, she took further training in the Toronto conservatory and sang in opera, operettas, as well as a frequent guest soloist in various churches.
World War II interfered with her career goals, and she returned to Calgary, where she participated in the war effort by participating in various musical events aimed at entertaining the various troops stationed in Calgary at the time. It was there that she met the love of her life, Gordon.
After the war, Gordon and Eunice were married, and she joined Gordon in Fort Langley, B.C. where they raised three children. Eunice also began a career focused on sharing her musical talents through teaching both piano and voice, and participating in a variety of musical events, including as a soloist at church services and special events. One of Eunice's favourite memories was being the conductor of the Langley "Choir 100" which was established to participate in the various celebrations of the Centennial of Canada in 1967.
Eunice is survived by daughter Catherine Kidd (husband John); son Bruce (wife Tammi); son Richard; daughter-in-law Jill; and grandchildren Nancy, Stuart, Andrea, Jeffery, Tara, Micah, Braden, Jolene, Brittany Regan, Bryce and Charis. Eunice was predeceased by husband Gordon and sons Bradley and Brian. She was also the remaining survivor of her three siblings.
A Celebration of Eunice's life will be held at North Langley Community Church, Langley, B.C. on Thursday December 12, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Langley Lodge Foundation, or a charity of your choice.
