November 24, 1953 - November 29, 2019
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marie Martin, born in Langley on November 24, 1953 and passed away on November 29, 2019 in Kelowna after a brief battle with Cancer. She was predeceased by her parents Ed and Lorna Burt and her sister Sandra.
Marie is survived by her husband Wayne Wright of 16 years, daughters Sherry, Tanya [Chris] and son Jason. She also left behind two granddaughters that she adored and to them she was Gaga, Maizie-Skye and Zoey Marie Delia, along with her siblings Terry [Ted], Dan [Tracey], Ken [Selina], Uncle Steve Marshall [Steff] and many nieces and nephews. Marie and Wayne both retired together on November 29 and enjoyed 5 precious years of the retirement life. Marie was very vibrant, an avid rock climber and bodybuilder, these were her passions along with biking, hiking and she acquired the art of fly fishing. Marie as a very positive and supportive girl and always had a beautiful smile for everyone she encountered. She loved her job and considered her co-workers her family.
She retired November 29 and 5 years to the day she passed.
Also leaves behind her blended family Trevor [Kim], Clayton [Oleinna] and their children Carson, Kesler and Chloe. She created many precious memories in their lives.
We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Royal Inland Hospital, they provided invaluable care the short time Marie was there.
Marie would never say good-bye, always so-long.
