Marilyn was born in Chengdu, China, and grew up in West Virginia. She married Tim Ballard in 1968 and they moved to Canada in 1969, where their daughter, Jennifer was born. Marilyn was a biologist, loved gardening, raised Australian Shepherd dogs, and served for several years on the DNA Committee of the Australian Shepherd Club of America. Marilyn is survived by her husband Tim, daughter Jennifer, sister Jacquelyn Tuxill and brother Don Lenox. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marilyn's memory can be made to Langley Memorial Hospital Foundation.
