Mario Leo Borsato was a kind, quiet gentleman.

He passed away peacefully on April 5 at the age of 95. Mario is survived by his devoted wife of 71 years, Eileen, and was the loving and admiring father of Loraine (Christian), Laura (John), Roland (Louise), enchanted grandfather, "Nonno," to Eleana, Alexa, Maria, Andrea and Kate, and an amused great grandfather to Finn, Rosalind, Vincent, Vaughn, Halle, Harvey, Nola and Arwen.

Mario was born in Michel, BC but spent most of his life in Langley and Vancouver. His consistent contribution to the community extended over many decades, as a Mason, Shriner, Rotarian and Kinsman. For 30 years Mario sponsored Langley soccer teams for players of all ages. A well-respected businessman in Langley, he built his business on good old-fashioned honesty and integrity.

Mario had a full, healthy and long life. A passionate bocce competitor, Mario was a devoted fan of boxing and soccer. Mario possessed an ever-present sense of humour that was appreciated with laughter and teasing groans. He enjoyed music throughout his life and as a young man played saxophone and clarinet.

His love of music introduced him to his wife and what followed was a lifetime of love and devotion for Eileen. That love extended to and encompassed his children, grandchildren and their children. Together Mario and Eileen made lifelong friends who were an important part of the fabric of their life together. Mario and Eileen worked hard and retired early. As a couple, they travelled to many countries, enjoying different cultures.

A reflective, spiritual and generous man, Mario lived by a strong moral code. He left a lasting impression and many good memories with his community, with many friends and with the members of his family.

The family wishes to express their thanks and appreciation for the. support, love and assistance provided so well to Mario by the Royal Arch Masonic Home.

Mario was loved dearly and will be missed forever.

A celebration of Mario and of his life will be planned in the near future.
