September 10, 1944 - December 14, 2017Merle passed away in Langley Memorial Hospital. Merle was born in Regina Saskatchewan. She moved with her parents and five sisters to Medicine Hat Alberta in 1957 and later met her future husband Ken at the age of 15, and were married in 1965. Merle and Ken later moved to the west coast and settled in Langley B.C. and had two children Marnie and Kenny.She stayed at home raising her children until they entered high school. She then returned to the workforce as an audiometric technician working for Fraser Health or 19 years until her retirement at age 60 Throughout Merle's life, she belonged to, and volunteered at many local organizations such as; the Langley Lions, Red Hats, Penny Pinchers and The Langley Curling Club.Merle was known for her generosity, kindness & friendly smile. She was also an amazing cook, enjoyed reading and possessed amazing organizational skills. She will be sadly missed by many, especially her family and close friends, but never forgotten.She is predeceased by her father Bob Gray and her mother Elsie, and is survived by her husband Ken, two children, one grandson Rees, and five sisters and a countless number of family and extended family.A prayer service will occur Thursday, January 11, 2018 from 5:30 PM to 6:00 PM, 20680 Fraser Highway, Langley, BC.A mass of Christian burial for Merle will be held Friday, January 12, 2018 from 1 PM to 2 PM at St Joseph's Church, 20680 Fraser Highway, Langley, BC.In lieu of flowers please consider a donation, in memory of Merle, to the BC Children's Hospitalhttps://secure.bcchf.ca/donateFond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.hendersonslangleyfunerals.com for the Lerner family. Henderson's Langley Funeral HomeAdditional Photo(s):
