WARDLE - Michael Terence P. Eng

In the late morning of June 1, 2005 Terry died quietly with his wife by his side, ending a 75 year old journey from an English working class lad to an avid sailor. Along the way he married the woman he loved, raised two children, and traveled around the world as an engineer, rising from a lowly bridge designer to a senior V.P. of Acres, an international engineering company. His was an interesting life. In his early years his Dad died at an early age, he knew privation. He lived and worked in 3 different countries, he carved wood sculptures and built furniture, and he cared for his wife and family. An intelligent, witty resourceful private man, he was never more at home than when he had his hand on a tiller, the sails full, and the telltails flowing straight and true. He will be greatly missed and mourned by those who loved him: his wife Jo, his daughter Lynne (Jim), his granddaughters Lindsay and Kerry and his son Robin. "We'll be seeing you Dad". A special thanks should go to his three wonderful caregivers, Wilma, Joanna and Marnie, without whose help his wife could not have cared for him at home during his resolute struggle with Parkinson's. A Memorial of his life will be held in the garden of his home, 22095 - 102nd Avenue, Fort Langley at 3:00 p.m. Monday, June 6th, light refreshments to follow. Flowers gratefully declined, but donations may be made to the Disabled Sailing Association at 1300 Discovery Street, Vancouver, B.C. V6R 4L9.
