June 7, 1936 - May 9, 2025

Monica passed peacefully into the presence of the Lord early on May 9, 2025.

She was predeceased by her husband Jack, sister Beryl, and 3 beloved grandchildren. Monica is survived by daughters Patricia (Garth), Christine (Steve), Susan (Rudy), Wendy (Stuart), 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, her brother David (Karen), and 7 nieces and nephews.

Monica was born June 7, 1936 in Liverpool, England. She immigrated to Canada with her Mum, sister and brother in 1952. They were sponsored by a local church and settled in Vancouver. She married Jack Hanna in 1955 and had 4 beautiful daughters.

Monica worked for many years as bookkeeper for the BC head office of the Royal Canadian Legion. Throughout her life Monica volunteered her time generously, for the Girl Guides, Meals on Wheels, St Thomas and St George's Anglican Churches, Langley Best Babies, and as a Langley Seniors Centre Ambassador. She was a longtime supporter of many charitable organizations, especially those helping animals and social service groups.

Monica delighted in her grandchildren, and their home was often a very busy gathering place, with board games often underway. Spending time working in her garden was her other happy place.

We thank the Rosewood Manor staff for their gentle care.

There will be a memorial service on July 21, 1:00 pm at St. George's Anglican Church, 9160 Church street, Fort Langley, BC.

In lieu of flowers, donations to BC Wildlife Rescue would be appreciated. Condolences may be offered to the family at https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/12370279.
