GOODE, PATRICK N.

July 16, 1915 - June 3, 2010

Pat was born on July 16, 1915 at Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire in England. He was preceded by his father Ernest Goode, his mother Geraldine Duval Goode and his older stepbrother Richard Goode. His elementary schooling was at Lynchmere School Eastbourne, Sussex England. His later education was at Oundle School in England. He studied Chartered Accountancy in London England and was graduated in 1936. During WWII he joined the air Force, where he trained as a navigator. He immigrated to Canada immediately after the war. He moved to British Columbia in 1949 where he practiced Chartered Accountancy. He was President of Northland Navigation and later Senior Vice President of Potter's Distillery. He became a land developer in Squamish, establishing the community of Garibaldi Estates and Garibaldi Highlands. Throughout his long and busy life he always found time to reach out and touch his fellow man. He was well known for his generosity to church and community. Whatever cause or project he became involved with, he attacked with admirable tenacity and would not let it go until he had seen it through to a successful end and meaningful conclusion. He will be greatly missed by his wife Louise, his sons Richard (Cheryl), Michael (Jennifer), daughters Carol Ann Philion (George), Elizabeth Busse, Kathleen Troughton (David), Margaret Getz (Trevor), Cheryl Prevost (David), step children Cheryl Musto, Lori Halstrom and Dr. Cameron MacDonald, seventeen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and one great great-grandson.

A memorial service will be held at St. Oswald's Anglican Church 9566-190 Street, Surrey at 1:30pm on Saturday the 12th of June. In lieu of flowers, donations to your favorite charity would be appreciated.
