Paul Gerald Otke, age 92, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, December 15, 2020, in Langley, BC, at Langley Gardens Long Term Care Home, surrounded by loving care givers. Paul was born July 27, 1928, in Pocatello, Idaho.
When Paul was three years old, he was adopted by Lydia & August Otke which Paul believed had the greatest impact on his life. With his loving parents and seven older siblings, Paul grew up on a farm near Roblin, Manitoba.
He later moved to Winnipeg to complete high school, enlisted as an officer cadet in the Canadian army, studied at the U of M, and met his wife, Selma, whom he married in 1954. Paul earned his Masters in Psychology at UBC in 1958. Paul served in the Canadian military for 18 years and as a Major, in 1970 he obtained his PhD in Industrial Psychology at York University. Paul moved his family to Edmonton serving as Dean at Grant MacEwan Community College (MacEwan University).
In 1999, he moved part-time to Langley with Selma, enjoying retirement, writing books and spending time with his grandchildren.
Paul was predeceased by his wife Selma and is survived by his children, Carmen (Robert), Rhoda (Jerry), Laura (Steve) & Jayson (Matias); grandchildren, Katie (Davis), Danielle (Clay), Cameron, Kirsten (Rob), Andrew (Julia), Matthew (Emily), Aaron, Joel (Jennah) & Emma; great grandchildren, Grayson, Jasper, Keaton & Oaklyn.
